Jack By Jenna Restel

Something about Jack,

the first sip,

gave me courage

I was able to ask

why you lack accountability

so severely

Why a womanizer,

like you,

can advise two daughters

Why a scammer, a thief,

such as yourself,

asks why I broke the law

Why a man like you,

with so many addictions,

tells me not to drink

Why the atheist

who raised an atheist

tells me to believe

Why can you be a hypocrite?

Why are you better than me?

Alone again,

onto another sip

without any answers.
