Missile by Gloria Mindock

When the torpedo hits, it is
inevitable that there is disintegration.
This is what happens to a heart when
good-bye is said.

You wait for it to happen again.

looking for someone to hit.

It is always there.
Waiting to ignite.

Gloria Mindock is editor of Cervena Barva Press. She is the author of five books of poetry.
Her sixth collection called, Ash, is forthcoming from Glass Lyre Press. Gloria has been published and translated into eight languages. She was Poet Laureate in Somerville, MA in 2017 and 2018.
