My Ability To Handle The Pain. by. J.J. Campbell

the devil is
in the details

this loud fucker
on my right shoulder,
laughing at each
and every fuck up

but don’t worry

eventually, i’ll
drink that fucker
under the table
as well

i pride myself
in my ability to
handle the pain

handle the day
to day hatred
and doldrums

i used to need
drugs for it

now, it’s a certain
amount of love
and stubbornness

it’s the only way
beauty exists in
this world

J.J. Campbell (1976 - ?) was raised by wolves and is currently trapped in suburbia.
