Watching the sun-kissed vine
give birth to the grape
Carefully selected and prepped
Squashed into paste
to attain its life’s blood
Fermented and bottled
Every year a treasured vintage
The grape’s destiny fulfilled
Let’s raise our glass
in thankfulness
to the fertile ground
for this superior harvest
which yielded a masterpiece
of unblemished Cabernet Sauvignon
The ghost of the grape
looks on, envious of its new form
knowing it is more popular now
than it was on the vine
