Only Just December By Ian Lewis Copestick

It's only just December yet
and I'm already sick of
Winter.

The temperature hasn't been
above zero all day, or for
several days.

The frost and ice stay
undisturbed.

It looks like it's going to be
the same for the foreseeable
future.

You have to feel for all of
the rough sleepers out there.

I mean you could literally
freeze to death.

While your government tells
you that being homeless is
" a lifestyle choice. "

Yes, what a cool lifestyle
freezing to death.

Or being so cold that you
can't sleep.
You're shivering keeps you
awake.

And it's only just December.

Ian Lewis Copestick is a 49 year old writer (I prefer that term to poet ) from Stoke on Trent, England. I spend most of my life sitting,  thinking then sometimes writing. I have been published in Anti Heroin Chic, the Dope Fiend Daily, Outlaw Poetry, Synchronized Chaos, the Rye Whiskey Review, Medusa's Kitchen and Horror Sleaze Trash.
