Time Floating By John Drudge

I remember

When I saw you

For the first time

On the rue Apollinaire

At the stand-up bar

By Deux Magots

Where the walls

Were mirrored

With the reflections

Of the doomed

And you were wrapped

Purposely

On the edge of pragmatism

Your coattails

Dragging in the dust

As time floated

In the evening glow

And the noise trailed in

From the street
