BEHIND US By Roger Singer

we stand

under a

cloudy sky

on a backroad

where cricket

symphonies

rise beside

a stream

flowing to

the ocean

 we sing

love songs

to a

broken moon

and then

feel sad

about the

ashes of

burned bridges

behind us
