Blithering by Doug Holder

An idiot.
A drunk without
a chaser--
With blather.
Knows nothing

Some dolt
Purple in polyester.
Talks from the
side of a dribble
Slips you a note,
incomprehensible
scribble.

Doug Holder is the founder of the Ibbetson Street Press and the co-president of the New England Poetry Club. He teaches writing at Endicott College.
