Archie Bunker opines about Pellegrino Water by Doug Holder

 This ain't your meathead Poland Spring
this is what comes from what you call
Virgin Springs.--
hey—nobody gets laid there
their happy just drinking water
may Jesus strike me dead!
It's like seltzer
but it is not made by the Hebes --
like a sucker punch
no bitch slap
of dem bubbles
here there are 
no troubles...
She is long and green
a regular queen
hey!
you know
what I mean?





 Doug Holder is the co-president of the New England Poetry Club founded by Robert Frost and others in 1915. He is also the founder of the Ibbetson Street Press of Somerville, MA. He teaches creative writing at Endicott College in Beverly, MA.
