A man slew a monkey
with a tiger as the only witness.
The tiger killed the man –
whether in retaliation or
merely seizing an opportunity,
it is not clear –
but he took the man’s clothes,
and thus disguised,
joined the world of men.
This tells us what we already know:
that men are just
beasts in textiles.
