Loukaniko At Tom’s Tavern by John Harold Olson

How do you feel, Tom?
Tom says, I feel like a young Bull!
A few cans of Mythos later:
What did you have when you came to America? I had the memory of ashes, Tom said.
I had a bag of rags with
A bottle of retsina, bread,
And a smoked Loukaniko.
Also, he added, some good sardines.
That’s all?
Tom, wiping down the bar,
What more do you need?

Retired Las Vegas teacher now a hospice volunteer.
