For years
education
was just
a host of
self-titled
masters
screaming
over me
until I did
something
they hated
a bit less,
still hoping
to have me
hang my
self up
over desk
or bench
so they
could leap
up from
worm work
to say Yes,
you finally
learned
something.
Chad Parenteau hosts Boston’s long-running Stone Soup Poetry series.
