smeared turquoise lipstick

stale breath, heavy with whiskey

shame she’s my sister



folk music


he played his banjo

like a Pied Piper for drunks

stumbling home shoeless



generosity


nothing’s sadder than

the last drop of whiskey in

someone else’s glass
