OUR MATE BOOZER by Bruce Hodder

Trust me, he said,
there's nothing lonelier
than being on your own
in a crowded pub
when a good looking
teenage barmaid serves you
and your hand shakes
as you lift your pint
and the beer spills everywhere.

Bruce Hodder lives with Michelle in Northampton, the most statistically average town in England. He has been published in quite a few magazines over the years, most recently ‘Academy of Heart and mind’ and ‘Winedrunk Sidewalk’.
