If you’re not careful

someone might notice

your hair

even go as far

as complementing it

but it wasn’t my fault

the pool tables were busy

or that a forty-something divorcee

stuck her tongue

down my student 

discount 

throat

the morning after 

having to admit

the lamination 

on my fake ID

wasn’t going to hold 

much longer
