Lamination, Iowa by Danny D. Ford

If you’re not careful
someone might notice
your hair

even go as far
as complementing it

but it wasn’t my fault
the pool tables were busy

or that a forty-something divorcee
stuck her tongue

down my student
discount
throat

the morning after
having to admit

the lamination
on my fake ID
wasn’t going to hold
much longer
